HOW THE MMA CAREER SIMULATOR WORKS

MMA Journey Saga is a free MMA career simulator you play in the browser, with no download. You create a fighter, pick a starting country and live ten seasons: from 20 to 30 years old, one year per turn, from the local circuit to the UFC belt. Here are all the rules.

1. Fighter creation and weight classes

At creation you choose a name, nickname, starting country (every country in the world, searchable in English or Italian) and weight. Your weight automatically assigns one of the eight official men's divisions:

DivisionLimit
Flyweightup to 56.7 kg / 125 lb
Bantamweightup to 61.2 kg / 135 lb
Featherweightup to 65.8 kg / 145 lb
Lightweightup to 70.3 kg / 155 lb
Welterweightup to 77.1 kg / 170 lb
Middleweightup to 83.9 kg / 185 lb
Light Heavyweightup to 93.0 kg / 205 lb
Heavyweightup to 120.0 kg / 265 lb

You can also upload a photo: it is used on the profile card and on the championship images when you win a belt. Without a photo the game generates an avatar from your initials.

2. Climbing the promotions up to the UFC

Every year you decide which organisation to sign with among those that have opened their doors. The typical progression looks like this:

  1. 1. LOCAL CIRCUIT

You start with the promotion of the country you picked at creation: small purses, beatable opponents, and a record to build.

  2. 2. REGIONAL PROMOTIONS

Cage Warriors, KSW, LFA, ACA and RIZIN open up as your record, ranking and fan base grow — each year you choose who to sign with.

  3. 3. MAJOR ORGANISATIONS

Bellator and PFL raise both the level of the opposition and the money, but a losing streak gets you cut from the roster.

  4. 4. UFC

The final step unlocks with hype and results: you enter at number ten in the divisional ranking and climb to the title, then defend the belt.

Wins, finishes and media interviews raise hype and fan base: those are what unlock the better contracts. Consecutive losses get you cut from the roster and send you back down a level.

3. Training and injuries

Each season you pick a discipline to train — boxing, muay thai, wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo or strength and conditioning — and how hard to push. More load means more growth, and more risk:

IntensityEffectRisk
Skip trainingNo growth, health recovers0%
LightMinimal growth2%
RegularGood balance8%
HardBig growth22%
BrutalHuge growth42%

Injuries range from a groin strain (about two months out) to a torn ACL (almost a year), with stat penalties during recovery. As you get older the risk grows and recovery takes longer: at 29 the same load that was fine at 21 can end a career.

4. Scouting and pre-fight tactics

Before every bout, scouting shows the opponent's style and the recommended counters, so you can choose who to face in the rankings and how to fight:

  • STRIKE FIRSTMore striking power and more finishes, but you take 15% more damage.
  • WRESTLINGControl and takedowns: a safer fight with less damage taken, but little spectacle.
  • CONSERVATIVEDefence and management: very little damage, almost no finishes, hype drops.
  • ALL-INMaximum risk: you finish fights far more often, but a bad night can cost you dearly.

The training mini-games (combo, clinch, takedown defence) grant stat bonuses and reduce injury risk. The difficulty you pick — Casual, Pro or Realism — changes matchmaking, injury odds, the impact of defeats and how many losses in a row get you cut.

5. Rankings, belts and shareable cards

Every fight produces a detailed report: judges' scorecards, knockdowns, takedowns, damage and method of victory. The divisional ranking updates accordingly and, once you win the belt, the title defences begin. At the end of a career you can export a 1080x1080 profile card as PNG or JPG with different themes, and share it with a public link.

Frequently asked questions

Is the MMA career simulator free?
Yes. It runs in the browser on phone, tablet and desktop — no download, no install.
How long is a career?
Ten seasons: your fighter starts at 20 and retires at 30, one year per turn, with an athletic peak between 26 and 28.
How is my weight class assigned?
From the weight you enter at character creation, using the eight official men's divisions from flyweight to heavyweight.
How do injuries work?
Every training intensity carries a risk, from 0% if you skip sessions to 42% on a brutal load. Injuries cost weeks of inactivity, hit your stats and heal more slowly as you age.
Can I choose my opponent?
Yes. Scouting shows each ranked fighter's style and likely counters, then you pick who to face and which tactic to use.
Is my progress saved?
Yes: your career stays on the device and, with an account, syncs across devices.
